We highly recommend that all players who desire to play competitive soccer next year attend their age specific tryout dates. Any competitive player that is choosing to tryout in a birth year other than their true age group, must specify this in the online tryout registration.
If you intend to tryout for LPDL , then you need to register through the LPDL tryout link. If a player does not meet the LPDL ability/skill criteria, the player will be placed back into their birth year tryout to give that player the best chance to gain a place on a SU team. Players may be asked to move up to the LPDL from the competitive tryouts during the week. Our goal is to achieve the best fit for each player for the next year. Please do not make any assumptions based on where players are being placed throughout the tryout week as selections are not final until the coaching staff discusses each individual player.
The LPDL structure will comply with the US Developmental Academy Model as best as our state environment will allow. Targeted age groups for the first year are U14-U15, U16-U17.
Due to the staggered completion dates of state cups, competitive tryouts across the state will take place over an 8 week period. Therefore, to compensate our staff coaches during this time period, there will be a $20 per player Competitive tryout fee. This fee also covers all administrative costs and the tryout t-shirts. No player will receive a tryout number before their fee is paid. Payment must be made online at the time of tryout registration OR by check, cash or money order in our office before the tryout dates. We will NOT be able to accept payment at the field on the day of tryouts.
Players who are selected for a competitive roster are making a full year commitment to the club and their assigned team. The team selections will be posted on the CABOSA website by tryout number as follows: U11-U13 May 8 th , U14 and above June 27 th . Players will have two weeks from the posting date to accept their invitation to play. Players that do not accept their invitation to play by completing the online registration prior to the invitation deadline will lose their respective roster spots.
