U8 PRE-ACADEMY

 U-8 Boys and Girls have two playing options available:

 
  • U-8 Recreational teams -- Submit an application online during Recreational registration. Players will practice and play games with their assigned recreational teams.
  • U-8 Pre-Academy program – Submit an application online during Recreational registration. Players will attend two training sessions per week with our professional staff coaches. Players will play games with their recreational teams on the weekends. We accept all players who wish to participate in the Pre-Academy Program.

Spring Training begins Monday, February 4th

Pre-Academy training will be Mondays & Wednesdays,

5:00 - 6:00 pm @ LSUS
 

Team Formation

U-8 Pre-Academy players will be placed on recreational teams based on school and neighborhood.

Only players that are true U7/U8 age players will be accepted.

 

Fee Structure

Players will register for a recreational team during the registration period and pay the current recreational fee.

Players will also register separately for the Pre-Academy Program.

The Pre-Academy fee is $100 per season.

Players will also purchase a Shreveport United training t-shirt to wear for all training sessions. Mention "PreAcademy" at Sportspetrum and purchase for $5.

The registration fee is used to cover the costs of licensed staff coaches, training equipment, and field usage fees.

Training

The most important benefit to participating in the U-8 Pre-Academy is the professional training and guidance they will receive from the Shreveport United Soccer Club staff.

The focus will be on the development of technical skills with an introduction to fundamental tactics to prepare players to enter our U-9 Academy.

Pre-Academy training will correspond with the length of the Fall and Spring Recreational seasons.

Players will train 2 days per week. It is important that players attend training sessions on a regular basis. This program is designed for players looking to dedicate a significant amount of time to training and development of their soccer skills.

All players will be evaluated for skill at the end of the fall and spring seasons. A written evaluation will be provided to each player explaining present abilities and a prognosis for future performance.

Competition

U-8 Pre-Academy players will compete with their recreational teams on the weekends.
