How much does it cost to play for Shreveport United?
>Answer:
Typically, the costs run approximately $500.00 for the year coaching fees, and CABOSA registration and LSA fees. Each player is responsible for travel cost and uniforms. Each team, however, operates its own budget and some teams opt to travel and pay more, while other teams opt to participate in fundraisers in order to lower the cost. Each team has the opportunity to make between $500.00 and $2,000.00 per year by selling ads for the Red River Classic Tournament. This money directly reduces team fees for uniforms or coach's travel expense. Each team may contact the Executive Director, Kim Ates to assist in fundraising ideas and setting the fundraiser up.

Does Shreveport United Soccer Club provide scholarships for players with hardships?

This year alone, the SUSC gave 10 scholarships for players that could not otherwise afford to play. No player will be turned away on the basis of financial constraints. You may contact the office for a confidential application form.

How often do the teams travel?
>Answer:
LSA (Louisiana Soccer Association) will set game schedules for the Fall/Spring. Travel schedules for tournaments and friendly games are decided by the parents of each individual team and are voted on. Typically, the average team travels to 2-3 tournaments per season.

Will playing for the SUSC guarantee me a college scholarship?

While there are no guarantees of college scholarships, we will work hard to provide your young person with every possible avenue to receive a scholarship. From a high level of training to all aspects of the college recruiting which includes the design of each player�s profile to communication between Coaching Director and the college coaches of the player�s choice.

How often do the teams practice?

The teams train between 2-3 days per week and on some occasions, one day per week will be spent scrimmaging another team.

What are the qualifications of the coaches?

Every coach in the Shreveport United is licensed. The majority of the SUSC coaches have not only had extensive coaching experience with youth players, but were also standout high school and collegiate players.
Question:
When are the Shreveport United tryouts?
>Answer:
Tryouts are held in early May for the younger age groups and will continue on through the first part of June for the older age groups. Players are notified of their status in the middle of June, and once they have committed in writing to the SUSC, they may not commit to another club from August-May, with the exception of CABOSA.
